Would you like to improve your Spanish? We made a program to help you
do that, if you are already speaking and understanding some Spanish.
While we were in Mexico making a video about Mexican
children, we happened to meet a woman who taught English at the University
of Guanajuato, and she invited us to come speak English with her students.
They were delightful, bright, full of hopes and dreamsand
we spontaneously came up with the idea of making another video,
which turned out to be Mexican Pizza.
We decided to shoot part of it in the restaurant next to our
hotel -- but when we got there with the students, the restaurant
was full of visiting Russians in town for a dance performance.
A background of Russian conversation wasn't quite the soundtrack
we had in mind!
The students took us to an outdoor cafe that was even better.

Mexican
Pizza: Lively Conversations in Spanish. VHS, 24 minutes, high
school, college, and adult. Booklet included. Internet special,
$25.
Train your ear as you follow the spontaneous conversation of
a group of vivacious students. Several University of Guanajuato
students stroll to an outdoor cafe, where they order pizza, tell
jokes, and talk about their lives.
This video is a tool for learning Spanish as people really speak
it.
You can watch one of the six sections, then read the Spanish
transcript and English translation in the accompanying booklet.
When you watch the section again, notice how much more you can
follow.
This program is intended for both individual and classroom use,
at intermediate and advanced levels.
